  • Vintage Meoto yunomi from 1980s~1990s

  • Kutani ware originates from the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture, with roots dating back to around 1655 during the early Edo period

  • Defined by its vibrant colors, intricate designs, and often the application of gold leaf

  • Meoto (meaning couple) yunomi are traditionally given as wedding gifts

  • One cup is typically smaller than the other

  • This pair is hand-painted with a tropical foliage design and has crackle patterns called kannyu

  • Kannyu is an intentional part of the design often used in Kutani ware and is not a defect

  • Marked “Kutani-yaki Senshun (Kiln)” on base
