Vintage Itomaki with Two-Tone Metallic Orange Thread
In Japanese, ito means thread, string or yarn, while maki means to wind, roll or coil
Combined, they form the word Itomaki, meaning spool, reel or bobbin for winding thread
Sourced from an antique shop near Kyoto’s Nishijin district, it was most likely used for Nishijin textile production
Can be used for displaying small figurines, or as a stand for a small pot plant, or enjoyed simply as a decorative object
