Sousaku Kokeshi by Kisaku
Kokeshi titled “Kikyo”, meaning “Bellflowers”
Chunky Sousaku “Creative” Style Kokeshi by Kisaku from Gunma prefecture, the leading producers of Sosaku Kokeshi
Aside from producing Gunma-style kokeshi with pronounced carvings and often using bright colours, very little is known about Kisaku
This kokeshi features kikyo (bellflowers), one of Japan's Seven Flowers of Autumn, on her kimono
With its distinctive star-shaped petals, the kikyo is an auspicious flower symbolizing eternal love, sincerity and elegance
Comes with handwritten wooden name plaque inscribed with “kikyo” and “Kisaku”

CARING FOR YOUR KOKESHI
To dust, wipe gently with a dry soft cloth
Avoid touching kokeshi with wet hands as the dye/paint may run
Recommended to keep kokeshi away from direct sunlight to avoid wood from darkening and dye/paint fading
