Vintage Meoto yunomi from 1980s~1990s
Kutani ware originates from the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture, with roots dating back to around 1655 during the early Edo period
Defined by its vibrant colors, intricate designs, and often the application of gold leaf
Meoto, meaning couple, are traditionally given as wedding gifts
One cup is always slightly smaller than the other
This pair is hand-painted with a tropical foliage design and has crackle patterns called kannyu
Kannyu is an intentional part of the design often used in Kutani ware and is not a defect
Marked “Kutani-yaki Senshun (Kiln)” on base
