This piece is from Kozan Gama, a kiln owned by ceramic company Maebata Touki in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, operating since 1946
Originally used for serving Kaiseki cuisine, though it can also be used as a trinket box
Decorated with silver and green peonies on a purple base
Peonies are traditionally associated with nobility and stateliness, symbolizing wealth and happiness
