Nenju Buddhist Prayer Beads
Nenju with Chinaberry and Smokey Quartz beads
Nenju, also known as Juzu, are Buddhist Prayer Beads and used during during prayer or meditation to keep track of the mantra repetitions
Nenju translates as prayer beads while juzu means counting beads
They can be made from a variety of materials including wood, seeds and natural stones
The beads this set are made of a fragrant wood called Sedan (Chinaberry or Japanese bead Tree in English), along with three Cha-suisho (Smokey Quartz) beads
The exterior of the box is labeled “Gonenju” and the interior labels read “Sedan” and “Cha-suisho”
