Kimono Fabric Bag (Small)

¥9,980

Round-Shaped bag made from Upcycled Kimono Fabric

  • Beautiful one-of-a-kind bag features a colorful bird, possibly a phoenix, with gold and silver embroidered trimmings

  • It also features plum blossom and peony motifs, both of which are considered auspicious and used for celebratory occasions

  • Plum blossoms represent perseverance and strength as they bloom fragrantly even in the bitter cold, withstanding harsh environments

  • Due to their luxurious appearance, peonies have been a symbol of wealth and status and have been used on clothing since the 8th century, their elegance making them a popular choice for furisode (long-sleeved kimono)

  • This kimono will have been a particularly ornate furisode worn at coming-of-age day, a public holiday held in January of each year to honor people turning 20 years old

  • The colours are very bright and bold with some pops of neon, such as the pink and light green

  • Comes with circular acrylic handles and a compact interior pocket

  • The fabric may have a musty scent due to being vintage, so place the bag in a well-ventilated area to air out while avoiding direct sunlight

Vintage, antique and pre-loved items may show some signs of aging or wear. Please inspect the photos carefully before making your purchase.

Please note colours may vary slightly depending on monitor settings.
