This teapot set is from Kozan Gama, a kiln owned by ceramic company Maebata Touki in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, operating since 1946
Decorated with purple and green clematis flowers on both sides of the teapot and on each of the tea cups
The Japanese name for clematis is “tetsusen,” meaning iron wire, a reference to the plant’s strong, wire-like vines
Symbolically, clematis represents good connections, love, and a lasting bond in marriage
